Craftgawker x 2

YAY again! My second submission was also accepted! I'll have to remember to do this every month...*lol*

Here's the link: http://craftgawker.com/post/2009/10/30/7274/

Favs and gawkings are appreciated...:D

In other news, I also submitted a piece to Indiespotting and decided to take part in their Gift Guide this year. 5$US is really inexpensive and the more places I am, the bigger it will be.

The IndieNorth Gift Guide should be up and running tomorrow! So excited about that! It should be hugeeee!

A Black Friday to Cyber Monday and maybe even Payday Tuesday sales event is also in the works on Etsy. You can find out more about that and participate here: http://www.etsy.com/forums_thread.php?thread_id=6331957&page=1

There are a LOT of pages, but I highly recommend they all be read if you want to contribute some input into the affair...:)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Craftgawker...I'm in!

Hello lovely people!

I'm so excited!

I recently posted up two pieces to display on Craftgawker.com.

Craftgawker is a ever bigger site that displays handcrafted goods in a gallery type format very similar to Indiespotting (reminds me I gotta go submit there too!). It's gaining a huge amount of popularity as crafters discover it and it's notoriously picky in what it will accept in terms of photographic quality.

Basically, it's an excellent gauge for figuring if your photography is up to scratch...;)

The two items I posted where these:
Rouge Wrap Pendant Necklace
Creme Brulee Necklace

Well, Rouge Wrap is currently on display on the front page of the site!
Here's the individual link:

I would LOVE and appreciate it if any of you were inclined to fav the picture...:)

Creme Brulee is still pending, but I'll be sure to tell you guys if it too gets in. I'm hoping for lots of views and hearts from this!

It's new and it's snazzy!

Hey gang....I've just given my blog a serious face-lift...as I'm sure you can tell...:D

The operation lasted several hours...about 10 to be precise...and the results are fabulous! At least I think so...:)

I would very much appreciate if you could navigate about and see if everything works and loads well for you.

Any feed back would be GREAT!

Just to say, there are two sections that lead to nowhere right now. That would be the 'Gemstone Spotlight' and the 'Gifted Monthly' slots. They are two new features I intend on starting up...:)

So, pretty, pretty ugly, great, not so great...I want to know!
Thanks for all your input!

Oh boy...

Clutzy me strikes again....

In preparing to start playing with a new design for my blog, I accidentally saved a preexisting blog template over what my blog looked like before.

Bare with me as I try to incorporate a new look to Gifted Designs!

Sorry about the mess!

Oooh La La!

Yay! Lillyella put up the outfit I sent her for her 'Couture De Jour' section on her wonderful blog.

Check it out!

Here's basically what I said when I emailed it to her because I always have reasons...*lol* So want all of this!

The inspiration for this is sort of a blending in and popping out at the same time. Winter is coming and most people tend to dress in more muted and neutral tones...why not spice that up with some pops of red and teal!

Grey Dress I fully intend of getting this made to my size...it's so classic!
Peony Clutch Love that little pop of blue!
Red Earrings
Calvin Klein Sarika in Lagoon Chose these teal heels because they bring out that little pop of blue on the clutch and because they are not overly fancy for the dress...

There are lots more sets to see and all are gorgeous...have fun looking at the eye candy!

IndieNorth - featured in this great Canadian Collective!

Imagine my surprise when I was contacted by Beth, the head honcho over at Indie-North, to be featured on her amazing collective. I had just discovered the site myself and so it was totally unexpected!

I was incredibly humbling and flattering to be chosen for one of her spotlight features and I am incredibly thankful. Here's the feature!

If you're a Canadian Artisan, IndieNorth features a great directory for free and you will be listed among a great variety of Canadian shops...:) She's also setting up a HUGE Gift Guide for the Holidays with all the hoopla you could ask for to get it known out there that is sure to be a HUGE hit!

Go check it out!

Lillyella Give-away

vintage button flower pin in turquoise and black

Oooh...Nicole over at Lillyella is having a fabulous giveaway that I just had to share. You get to choose a name for this week's interviewee JoAnn's gorgeous button broaches. Her shop, Refashioned, is chalk-full of beautifully repurposed accessories which conjure up images of romantic evenings and fancy-free meadows.

Definitely worth the check-out and worth helping her find a name for her pieces!

Bacon Stuffed Mushrooms

I was at work today and before leaving, my lady-boss was contemplating what to make for supper. I don't even recall what she mentioned (though I do recall it sounding mighty tasty), but it sparked this idea in my head to make myself some stuffed mushrooms. Off I went on a stuffed mushroom recipe hunt and what I found is SO TASTY that I had to share it with you guys...;)

Delicious stuffed-mushrooms

Delicious insides of the stuffed mushrooms

I n g r e d i e n t s:

♥ 1 lb medium fresh mushrooms (I had white buttons but I'm sure other kinds would be just as good!)
♥ 4 Bacon slices well cooked and chopped up into small pieces
♥ 1/2 minced onion (you can use some green onion mixed with regular onion)
♥ 1 tsp salt
♥ 1/8 tsp pepper
♥ 3 oz cream cheese at room temperature
♥ 1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs, plain or Italian blend
♥ 1/4 cup hot water

C o o k i n g:

Gently clean the mushrooms and remove the stems. Chop up the stems finely and set aside.

Fry the bacon strips until they are well done, but not over-cooked. Remove them and place them on a paper towel to drain off. In the bacon droppings, saute the onions and mushroom stems until tender and lightly golden. Drain if there is still a lot of bacon drippings. Add the salt and pepper.

Soften up the cream cheese in a bowl and add the bacon (chopped up) and the mushroom/onion mixture. Blend them all well together. Press a small amount of mixture firmly into each mushroom cap so that it mounds over the top a little bit.

Place the bread crumbs into a small, shallow bowl. Gently press the tops of the mushrooms caps into the bread crumbs so that they are completely coated. Place the caps into a 9" x 13" baking dish and add the hot water to the pan without pouring the water over the tops of the mushroom caps. Bake, uncovered, 20-25 minutes at 325'F. You should have about 30ish mushrooms.

And there you have it. Yummy hors d'oeuvres done quickly with very little mess or a nice side dish. What-have-you, they will be delicious!

Enjoy!

Summer Dreams treasury

Now that I am getting back into the swing of things, I'll be able to make treasuries again. If you'd possibly like to be featured in my next treasury, simply comment either on the treasury itself or here.

I got a feeling...

...That tonight's gonna be a good night! ;)

I'm back everyone! Woohoo! In my new place and just about to get ready to update my shop's current listings in preparation for my HUGE holiday sale while still putting all my stuff away and settling in!

I thought I would pep you guys up with this AMAZING video by the students of the University of Quebec a Montreal (UQAM). This was done in one take, though I'm sure it took TONS of prep time. I just thought it was so upbeat...it made me want to get up and dance and make the best of everything in my life that I can!

Enjoy the vid and I hope it does for you what it did for me. Who knows, I might post more videos of just about anything if you guys enjoy this...;)
